Lesson Curriculum
The radKIDS Personal Empowerment Safety Education curriculum empowers children to recognize, avoid, resist, and, if necessary, escape violence or harm while building confidence, critical thinking, and strong personal boundaries.
Introduction
The radKIDS Personal Empowerment Safety Education curriculum is designed to empower children with the skills to recognize, avoid, resist, and, if necessary, escape violence or harm. It emphasizes personal boundaries, critical thinking, and confidence.
Program Content
The program is divided into five modules.
- Module 1 lessons on Personal Boundaries are foundational for students to establish personal boundaries based on principles of self value and self worth.
- Module 2 lessons on School Safety address bullying, both directed at self and at other students, and resisting drugs and alcohol.
- Module 3 lessons on Home Safety address five risk areas for children at home: escaping emergencies, injury prevention, gun safety, cyberbullying, and violence at home.
- Module 4 lessons on Out and About Safety focus on safety planning if a child gets lost, identifying safe routes in a community if in danger, and safety during transport. They also address sexual abuse prevention, including personal touch and reading the nationally recognized book Sam’s Secret.
- Module 5 is the concluding lesson with a Review and Celebration.

Every lesson follows a consistent, student friendly format:
